Medical offices

Exam rooms cleaned the same way every night

For primary care, specialty and urgent-care offices that want every room cleaned to the practice's own infection-control plan, with a record of who did what.

  • A written room card for exam rooms, labs, restrooms, waiting room and break room

  • A crew of two to four with a named lead on your schedule

  • A signed night log to your office manager by morning

What is included

The room cards, room by room

Each room type has its own checklist. Extras are priced on the proposal and left out unless you pick them.

    • Sharps containers left where they are, flagged when nearly full

    • Floor last, with a laundered mop head

The touch points a hundred people use: chair arms, door handles, the counter, the card reader and the pen.

    • Glass and push plates

    • Magazines and toys left alone

    • Carpet vacuumed, hard floor damp-mopped

  • Restrooms and staff areas

Fixtures cleaned then disinfected, restocked from your list. Break room counters, sink and the refrigerator handle.

How a night goes

From the text that the crew is in to the log in the morning

  1. 01
    After your last patient

Step 1: The crew texts that it is in

The lead texts your office manager on arrival and checks the alarm and the rooms you have marked off.

  2. 02
    Rooms

    Step 2: Rooms in order

Waiting room and front desk first, exam rooms next, restrooms last, so the dirtiest room never touches a clean one.

  3. 03
    Protocol

Step 3: Each room, six steps

Gloves, dust, clean, disinfect, floor, initial. Wet contact time is read from the label, not guessed.

  4. 04
    Close

Step 4: Lock up and log

The crew sets the alarm, locks the door and the lead sends the log, with anything flagged on top.

Before and not at all

What to do before we arrive, and what we do not do

  • Before we arrive

What your staff set up so the night goes to plan.

    • Close and seal sharps containers

    • Lock cabinets and drawers that hold patient records or medication

    • Tell us about rooms or floors to skip that night

    • Clear exam tables of anything you want left in place

  • What we do not do

Clinical work stays with your clinical staff.

    • Handle, open or carry out sharps or regulated medical waste

    • Reprocess instruments or touch the autoclave

    • Open charts, drawers, cabinets or screens

    • Clean up blood or body-fluid spills beyond marking the spot and calling your designated person

    • Fog, spray or "treat" the air in a room

Questions

Two or three things people ask

What if we see patients in the evening?

Crews arrive after your last patient. If you run late some nights we start later or work the rooms in sections. Tell us at the walkthrough and we build it into the schedule.

Do you change the exam table paper?

No. We leave table paper as your staff set it, and soiled linen goes in your hamper. We do not launder it.

Who checks the work?

Asif Biswas inspects a sample of rooms every week and signs an inspection sheet. Ask to see it.
